Our Staff


Sharon Rose, B.A.Ed., is the owner, director, and head teacher of Rose Blossom Nursery School. Sharon has a California teaching certificate qualifying her to supervise both preschool and school-age after school programs, and a California multiple-subject teaching certificate for ages preschool through adult education. Sharon has studied Nonviolent Communication with Marshall Rosenberg, Ph.D., and uses this training as a foundation for conflict resolution and classroom management at Rose Blossom School. Sharon has taught a wide range of subjects to both children and adults for almost thirty years, in both the public and private sectors. Sharon provides a consistent and caring social and academic environment, and brings to Rose Blossom School the creative arts of music, singing, creative drama, and storytelling.

Jill Wimmer has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from UCSC, and an Early Childhood Education Teaching Permit from Cabrillo College. She is also pursuing her master's degree in Counseling Psychology at Sofia University. Jill has had experience working with young children as a student teacher at a local day care center, and as a Child Development Master Teacher in an after school enrichment program. Jill is looking forward to connecting with and empowering children in the rich learning environment at Rose Blossom. She hopes to share her creative spirit and encourage the children to flourish while being their true selves. 

Heidi Youngman-Madsen has earned an Early Childhood Education teaching certificate from Cabrillo College. Additionally, she has Early Childhood Education Certificates of Achievement in Anti-Bias Curriculum, Working with Culturally Diverse Families, Infant-Toddler Care, and SEEDS Early Literacy Training. She is currently working towards a program director permit. Heidi has training and education in special needs education in the field of Early Childhood Education and has experience working with infants to preschool age children as a teacher at local nonprofits, private, and Montessori preschools. Heidi brings warmth and compassion to the Rose Blossom community. She looks forward each day to engaging with the children in a variety of creative learning opportunities while forming positive relationships with the children.

 

Marguerite Barragan has earned a California Development Master Teacher Permit and over 70 units of Early Childhood Education from Cabrillo College. She student taught at the Cabrillo College lab preschool and spent a year as an intern in the infant room. She has worked as a preschool teacher with children ages two through five in several different programs throughout Santa Cruz. Marguerite especially enjoys encouraging pre-literacy through books, play, and storytelling, and looks forward to helping the children at Rose Blossom navigate the challenges of social-emotional learning.
